Thanks for another thoughtful and insightful article. This issue of unwanted, unneeded and unnecessary confrontations in Olympia has got to be reduced to a level of competing ideas and not one of physical violence. These two sides are not committed to the ideals of democracy and peaceful protest. As Pat rightly notes, their only point is to be noticed, not to convince thoughtful people that their 'platforms' are superior. The Proud Boys and so-called Antifa do NOT have an identifiable philosophy. They are both inarticulate and add nothing to the issues of the day. I say to both groups: go away, stay home and out of downtown Olympia. Until you have something positive to say and contribute, go find something else to do with yourselves. You both have too much time on your hands.
