I am an avid weed eater. I think it's kind of bizarre that when something is Wild and Free we don't consider it food. The way I look at it I can weed my gardens and then use them for dinner...a win/ win.

I just made a batch of potato, leek, nettle and asparagus soup served with a dollop of sour cream. I pureed this batch with an immersion blender. Shotweed, Miner's lettuce and chickweed are prime here in Olympia right now. Highly nutritious and free food. Now is a great time to make dandelion root tea. I like to pan roast the chopped roots. A great experience of amazing food awaits those that want to explore our natural world.
