It is interesting that the City staff did not offer a less costly option. Retain Capital Lake and the Dam, which will substantially reduce the cost. The State did not include these SLR costs in their cost comparisons for the Lake DEIS. One more failure to support their decision making. This is another huge benefit to the Managed Lake Option. Oh well it is someone else that will pay the "piper"--oh yes , remove the 5th avenue barrier to the SLR and duplicate it with a new "dam along the shoreline" and pay for it again--$350 million. Not very smart and not very well done DEIS staff workers.
