3 detained after alleged armed robbery on Old Highway

An armed robbery reported on Old Highway 99 resulted in the detention of three suspects.

In a Facebook post, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office that deputies were deployed to an armed robbery on the 21800 block of Old Highway 99 SW, Centralia around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15.

No one was hurt in the robbery, but the cash register’s contents were stolen, Lt. Cameron Simper of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office told The JOLT. He did not disclose the amount stolen.

One suspect was described as a six-foot-tall male Pacific Islander. Surveillance photos showed him wearing an all-black outfit with red and white basketball shoes.

The man fled in a black Dodge Charger that was later found on the 6400 block of 201st Avenue SW. A K9 unit tracked the scents from the trucks to a nearby house.

Three men came out of the house, including a man matching the description of the Pacific Islander male. The two others were believed to be co-conspirators in the robbery, Simper said. Their names are not being released as formal charges have yet to be filed.

A search warrant was also served at the residence, with the search yielding evidence of the robbery, Simper said.

The three individuals were booked into the Thurston County Jail for first-degree robbery. They remain in custody as of Thursday, according to Simper.
