Building Electrification virtual informational meeting

The City of Olympia is requesting your comments on proposed local amendments to the Washington State Energy Code. The amendments will reduce the use of fossil fuels like natural gas in new and remodeled commercial and apartment buildings in Olympia.

Replacing fossil fuel use in buildings with efficient, all-electric buildings will substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions because electricity is increasingly produced by renewable sources, such as wind and solar.

Please read and comment on the proposed amendments on the City’s Building Electrification page. Your opportunity to comment is open through June 9, 2023.
