Thurston Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who allegedly beat up and attempted to rape his former girlfriend, on Sun., Sept. 5 at approximately 6 a.m.

Zachary Eugene Dresen, 28, of Roy, had fled his trailer as Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the Tipsoo Loop location in Rainier. He was located and arrested two weeks later.

Dresen’s alleged victim had contacted her father after she alleged that Dresen had beat her up and dragged her down a driveway. Dresen’s victim also claimed Dresen had attempted to rape her.

Deputies arrived to find four individuals screaming at each other, including the alleged victim, who ran to the deputies, according to their report.

The alleged victim had a black left eye and a bruise on her left arm.

The alleged victim told deputies that she had been dating Dresen for five months, but had that Dresen had become violent in the past two days which coupled with the use of narcotics.

The victim had informed Dresen that she was moving out of the state in the near future and ending their relationship. Dresen went inside her trailer, then “bear-hugged” her, forcing her onto the bed. The victim escaped outside and called her father.

Dresen allegedly followed the alleged victim, grabbing her phone, smashing it and throwing it into the bushes. Dresen then grabbed her by her hair, dragging her up the driveway toward the trailer, stating “get your ass in that RV, we’re going to fuck.”

The alleged victim told a deputy that she elbowed Dresen, who released her, and the victim escaped into the bushes.

The alleged victim’s father arrived, armed with a baseball bat, and scuffled with Dresen who left, grabbing his parent’s keys, then drove away. Dresen also had a valid no-contact order against him from one of his parents residing in the house.

Two days prior, the alleged victim said Dresen had punched her in the face, making her nose bleed, and said, “you are nobody so you don't deserve to live, so I'm going to kill you."

Dresen was located and arrested Sunday, Sept. 19, and booked on eight felony charges, including assault, attempted rape, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, unlawful imprisonment, violation of a no-contact order and malicious mischief.
