Envision Career Academy graduates listed

North Thurston Public Schools' new career-focused school graduated its first class

Last and smallest among North Thurston Public Schools' graduations this year was the Mon., June 21 ceremony to commemorate the accomplishments of the five students who graduated from Envision Career Academy. 

Congratulations to the school's first graduates.  They are:

  • Karina Herrera
  • Clifford Kettle
  • Austin Moser-Attaway
  • Kaleena Pierce
  • Ryan Spiva

Envision Career Academy launched in September 2020, picking up after the district ended its South Sound High School.   The career-focused school offers hands-on learning in five general areas:

  • Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
  • Business, Management & Administration
  • Manufacturing
  • Marketing
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)

The program includes internships, job-shadowing opportunities, mentorships and other forms of career exploration.  

The district describes Envision as "an innovative, choice high school utilizing a project-based approach to career-connected learning."   Its students apply for acceptance to the school.

Applications are still being accepted for the 2021-22 school year for incoming students.  Here's a link to the school's website
