Husband and wife booked on three crimes

A married couple was arrested after allegedly stealing from a store, carrying a gun despite a prior conviction, and violating a no-contact order.

J Guadalupe Carrazco, 39, and Tina L Carrazco, 43, were arrested last Saturday, Oct. 29, after a suspicious circumstance was reported at the Walmart on Littlerock Road SW in Tumwater. A reporting party said two individuals were “jimmying the lock” of a parked Subaru.

A Walmart loss prevention officer told police that a woman, later identified as Tina, selected multiple items and placed them into a blue plastic container, which a man, later identified as J, carried out of the store without paying. The items were valued at $780.

Authorities arrived at the scene and saw a green Subaru heading south in the parking lot, with J driving and Tina in the passenger seat. Police said the suspects did not stop until the third chirp of the siren.

J explained that the car was loaned to him by a friend, the owner of the vehicle was contacted and then confirmed to police that a screwdriver was needed to open and start the car and confirmed that they own the Subaru.

Another officer learned from a background check that there was a no-contact order out of Gray’s Harbor County that protected J from Tina. J said he was aware of the order and knew his wife violated it by being with him.

Tina was arrested without incident for violating the order. During her arrest, Tina told police that J had a gun inside the car.

Tina said J had a silver handgun with him that he put behind her seat when police stopped them. J claimed that Tina was just making up allegations to “get back at him,” stressing that he knew he was not supposed to have a gun on him due to a prior conviction.

Police obtained a search warrant and found a black handgun behind the passenger seat and a large plastic bin containing several items from Walmart.

J was booked into the Thurston County Jail for second-degree theft and unlawful possession of firearms, while Tina was booked into the Nisqually Jail for violation of a no-contact order.
