Lacey announces its new deputy police chief

City hired police commander from Kent, Washington

Robert Hollis was sworn in as Lacey's deputy police chief on Wed., Dec. 8, according to a press release issued today.

The city announced that his hiring followed a "a nationwide search and comprehensive selection process that included the participation of multi discipline panel members, community members, and stakeholders," and that "Hollis is the second Deputy Chief in
the department’s 55-year history."

Hollis has more than 20 years of law-enforcement experience.  In Kent he served as a commander in charge of race, equity, and inclusion initiatives, according to the city's press release. Hollis has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and an Executive Master’s Degree in Public Administration, both from the University of Washington.

“I am thrilled to have Hollis join our department as Deputy Chief,” said Lacey Police Chief Robert Almada. “I am confident he will be successful in his new position. We welcome him as a new community member and look forward to the integral role he will play in our City.”
