A man with eight outstanding warrants was arrested over the weekend after an alleged vehicle theft.
Lacey police said officers were called to a suspicious vehicle and possible theft at Walmart. When they arrived at the scene, they immediately recognized the truck as the one used to dump a stolen trailer.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle but had to terminate the pursuit due to state law when the driver refused to stop and accelerated away.
A Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy later saw the vehicle turning onto a dead-end road, where the suspect fled on foot after the deputy tried to stop him.
A K9 found the man about 200 feet into a wooded area. The suspect was arrested without further incident.
The man was booked into the Thurston County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding, as well as eight prior warrants including first-degree assault, first-degree escape, and second-degree burglary.

Having had a multi warranted car and cat thief taken into custody in my area, only to have him released because the "jail is full", I am sure this thief is already back on the streets.
Warrants, apparently, are just a means of keeping paper pushers employed.
