LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Martin Way/Carpenter Road neighbors feel targeted by proposed homeless encampment

Posted

I want to bring to light the neighborhood around the new Martin Way/Carpenter Rd encampment project. I have a petition and 80 plus signatures in one day from the surrounding businesses and homeowners who do not support the encampment moving into the new site.

Every business and every household that I spoke with today expressed serious concerns with the actions being taken by the county commissioners.

We feel that our neighborhood is being targeted with a Methadone clinic followed by a halfway house for Western State patients and now the relocation of homeless individuals from the Ensign Rd Encampment.

This neighborhood is at a boiling point and the commissioners are not listening to our pleas. Please help us express our concerns and help the commissioners see our neighborhood is already in need of help before they bring  another detriment to our lives.

Please attend the  Commissioners Meeting on Tue., Nov. 2, Start time is 2pm sharp. Please sign up on your way in to speak and tell the county we do not want this relocation program and we do not want the encampment on Carpenter Rd! The meeting will be held at Thurston County Courthouse Complex, Building 1, Room 280; 2000 Lakeridge Dr SW, Olympia, WA 98502

maybe these people we vote in to run this county should move them into there neighborhoods and let them homeless people steal there belongings and use there yards to shoot dope and use as a personal dump and bathroom.. they don;t care where they move them as long as it don't bother them, as the old saying go's OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND.
