Political platform statement
Why I am running for this office: It has been an honor serving on Tumwater's City Council since 2018. As Councilmember, I’ve brought a fresh approach to our city government and a vision that represents all our neighbors and families. I am proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish to help families and small businesses during the pandemic, and I will continue to help strengthen our community as we recover together. In the past few years, we've accomplished a lot including passing a municipal parks district, leading the way on initial redevelopment in the brewery district, and entering the conversation as a regional partner on housing and homelessness. But there's much left to do. My top priorities center around making Tumwater an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. Deepening the relationships I’ve made, I will partner with our neighboring municipalities, communities, and civic organizations to better address regional issues such as housing accessibility, environmental sustainability, and equitable opportunity. I will encourage opportunities for local businesses to thrive while preserving Tumwater’s rich character and history. I will work to pass policies and foster connections so that Tumwater can be recognized as a welcoming place for all families. It would be an honor to continue serving on Tumwater's City Council so we can achieve these goals together.
