A transient man was arrested after allegedly trying to fight with several people in a local bar, using his cell phone as a recording device and grabbing a woman by her hair last Saturday.

Olympia police reported that Wellington Waggener, 32,  has generated multiple calls for service with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and Lacey police in the past two weeks.leading up to his arrest at O’Blarney’s Irish Pub on Martin Way E on Sat., June 5 at 12:06 a.m.

Waggener allegedly entered O’Blarney’s shortly before closing, and began recording females’ conversations throughout the bar, even after being asked to stop by employees and other bar patrons. After one encounter, Waggener attempted to steal tip money off of a patron’s table, prompting O’Blarney’s employees to ask him to leave multiple times, according to witnesses.

As Waggener went toward the entrance, he allegedly passed by a female walking to the bathroom, and grabbed her by the hair, bending her backward and causing her to stop.

Waggener allegedly grabbed a bottle of ketchup off of a table and began pointing it at patrons, police say.

Waggener sprayed the ketchup on the O’Blarney’s manager, then acted as if he was about to spit on her, according to a police report.

“Multiple officers from Lacey PD and Olympia PD”  arrived to deal with 911 calls about Waggener at O’Blarneys and arrested him for two counts of assault, booking him in the Nisqually Jail.

It was noted in the police report that Waggener has a prior history of assaulting and fighting law enforcement officers and that he is 6’ 9” tall, according to his driver’s license.
