Police seeking multiple suspects in Lacey shooting

Posted

A 19-year-old Olympia man is in serious condition after a shooting near Lacey Sunday evening. Now the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is searching for multiple suspects.

A press release with some details on the shooting was released Monday. Sheriff’s Office Lt. Cameron Simper said no information other than that in the press release would be released at this time, citing the open investigation.

According to the press release, the victim of the shooting was a suspect in an unspecified earlier disturbance in Lacey. Thurston County deputies, offering assistance to the Lacey Police Department, responded to the 7100 block of Englewood Drive Southeast at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday in search of the man.

There, they discovered the man they were searching for had been shot and injured. Suspects in the shooting had already fled the area. Deputies provided aid to the injured man until medics arrived.

The man was first transported to Providence St. Peters Hospital and then Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Authorities are seeking multiple suspects. Simper said more information will be released as the investigation unfolds.
