State Rep. Andrew Barkis (WA-District 2, R) is offering a $5,000 reward for the identification of the two men who attempted to set his multi-use building on fire last week.

The Olympia Police Department announced on Twitter Wednesday that Barkis, who owns Hometown Property Management,——will reward anyone who will provide information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of the suspects.

The building was attacked on Monday last week, June 13, by two masked men who broke a window then threw a lit flare into the property.

Later on the same day, the two individuals were caught on surveillance footage involved in a burglary at the Lighthouse Antiques store on the 2900 block of Pacific Avenue SE.

One of the two suspects drove a silver or two-toned cream/tan 2004 to 2006 Subaru Outback wagon with a tow hitch in the back.

One suspect was described as “light-skinned, black shaved hair, and average height and build. He was wearing two-toned brown/black duck boots with white on the back of the heels, blue jeans, and a black rain jacket pulled up to his nose.”

The other suspect is “a white male, average height and build with an obvious large midsection. He was wearing white and black tennis shoes, white or light compression tights to his mid-calves, white athletic shorts, gray hoodie and gray or light bucket hat.”

Those with information about the suspects are urged to contact Detective Lt. Dan Smith at dsmith@ci.olympia.wa.us.
