Sculptures on Display, People's Choice Voting Now Open

Posted

OLYMPIA ––  Voting is now open for new sculptures to be put on display at Percival Plinth, an annual project that shows a new batch of sculptures at Percival Landing. Members of the community get to vote on the best sculpture, and the most popular sculpture will be added to the city’s public art collection.

Regional and local artists contribute original works to the contest, and the city buys the winning sculpture to display at various locations throughout Olympia. Sculptures on display that don’t win the top spot will be available to purchase after the completion of the contest. Potential buyers for those sculptures can contact the artist for more purchase information.

The winner of the 2019 contest was “Giant & I,” created by artist Nathan Robles. The piece was displayed at Percival Landing and will be moved to Olympia City Hall for display.

Voters can see the waterfront sculptures and vote on the 2020 People’s Choice Winner.. Voting ends online on Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. For more information including a map of artwork visit: www.olympiawa.gov/plinth
