Thurston County health officials are warning residents to avoid Percival Creek to avoid exposure to sewage.
Around 26,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the creek because of a blockage in the main pipeline, contaminating the water, according to a press release sent by Thurston County, warning people to steer clear of the area from Somerset Hill Drive to Capitol Lake.
According to the statement, Tumwater authorities say the site was cleaned and the spill contained by Feb. 17.
