Sports Star Awards recognizes local athletes

Olympia and Beyond celebrated Thurston's local athletes during the Sports Star Awards yesterday, November 3, at South Puget Sound Community College's Student Union Building.

Awardees:

• College Women's- Emma Duff, Western Washington University, basketball
• College Men's- Colton Smith, University of Arizona, tennis
• Girls'- Amanda Moll and Hana Moll, Capital High School, track and field
• Boys'- Ethan Coleman, Olympia High School, track and field
• Sports Contributor of the Year- Michela Laverty
• Thurston County Sports Legend Award- Coach Laurie Creighton, Olympia High School, volleyball
• Sports Moment of the Year- Tumwater High School
