Tacoma-Olympia Spring Exhibition: Art of Ikebana and Bamboo, April 26-27, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Tacoma Olympia chapter #147 of Ikebana International is having its Spring Exhibition on April 26 and 27. It will be held at TCC, Tacoma Community College. Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arrangement.  The organizers have a spring exhibition every year and it is at Tacoma Community College Art Gallery. About half the members are from Olympia and Mason counties.  The exhibition last year was attended by over 130 people.  Click this link for more details.

 Nathan Barnes: Measured Gallery Reception, April 28, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Through close consideration, the artist's goal is to engage the composition in the perception of the subject. The artworks selected for the exhibition are united by a process. For each composition, the subject has been carefully observed.  His creative process advances the formal elements. As marks accumulate, the composition begins to design itself.
