Woman busted for DUI after making late-night booze run

A woman allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol turned left into the wrong-way lane of on-coming traffic, in front of a marked patrol car, then continued to evade police until she was eventually pulled over just before midnight on Sun., Sept. 5.

Lacey police observed Lamaire Felix, 25, of Lakewood, driving her silver Chevrolet Malibu as she turned left from a center lane, proceeding through a red turn signal at the intersection of Marvin Rd NE and Martin Way E, then headed into oncoming traffic, before yielding to the right after passing a median barrier.

When contacted by a Lacey officer Felix claimed that she did not know that she had turned into oncoming traffic and was unfamiliar with the streets. There was  “strong odors of intoxicants”  observed by the officer as Felix attempted to find her identification, which Felix said may have been left at the store where she was buying alcohol.

LPD noticed that Felix’s speech was slurred. Felix admitted to having two drinks and did submit to a field sobriety test. She was unable to properly perform the activities of the test, according to Lacey police.

On the Draeger at the Lacey Police Station, Felix blew a .141, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 for blood alcohol.

Felix was cited for driving under the influence and released to her boyfriend, who drove her from the police station.
