Expect disruptions at Heritage Park from May 6 to May 13 due to a geotechnical survey

Posted

Anticipate disruptions when visiting Heritage Park, as the final stage of a geotechnical survey is set to commence near Capitol Lake.

The survey, a component of the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Project, involves drilling into the ground to gather samples and gain information into the composition of the ground surrounding Capitol Lake, aiding in the planning and development of crucial infrastructure such as bridges, roadways, and boardwalks.

Beginning Monday, May 6, and continuing through May 10, with additional work on Monday, May 13, the survey will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

During this activity, expect the presence of heavy machinery, trucks, and crews in the area, accompanied by considerable noise from the drilling process.

Portions of the pedestrian walking path near Capitol Lake will be closed for safety reasons, and marked detours will be provided to guide pedestrians safely around the affected areas.

Visitors are advised to plan accordingly and exercise caution while navigating Heritage Park during the survey period.

The work schedule is contingent upon weather conditions.
