Author Steve Olson, whose book Eruption: The Untold Story of Mount St. Helenswon the Washington State Book Award, re-creates the events of that calm and sunny Sunday morning with photographs, maps, and the unforgettable stories of the people who experienced the greatest volcanic eruption in U.S. history.
