The starkness of the two sides was deeply enlightening to me in figuring out this issue. Firefighters saying what they actually need and three old retired politicians that sounded like they had no clue what they're talking about. Heck, Bob Jacobs was even falling asleep at one point.
What sealed the deal for me, though, was the fact that Lacey runs as many calls as Olympia and has nearly double the budget. When asked why Lacey wasn't interested I heard the firefighter on the pro side succinctly say "because they have no need to--they're doing great."
I'm thoroughly in the yes camp now.
