This has always been poorly worded and certainly is not the police department's fault, but...

An arrest does not mean a person is guilty of the crime of which they are accused. All suspects are innocent IF AND until proven guilty. Besides this JOLT article, what brings this point to mind is the barrage of invitations we've all received to block Trump from running for office.

Even the Disqualification Clause of the 14th amendment only speaks against a person "holding" office, not "running" for it.

But the over-arching question is what penalties, if any, should be applied to people who have only been accused of committing a crime (indicted), but not convicted?

Personally, I think it would be best if he simply did not make it through the Primary Election.
