As a non Native American, I strongly feel such programs are necessary to support Native children as well as educate non Native children. Growing up in the PNW I didn't have a clue Native Americans were still here, and I'm 72 now. It was just happen stance I became of aware, which led to becoming informed. And personally, it was very enriching to my life views.
