I spent a year in Saudi Arabia/Iraq before, during and after the Gulf War. The burn pits were ubiquitous. I found my lump at the age of 37. I was told don't worry, you're too young to have breast cancer. But I demanded a pathology report when the lump was removed and the doctors at Madigan said, 'You're hotter than a two dollar pistol." I had a mastectomy within a week of diagnosis.

My oncologist said, "I've been in oncology for fifteen years. In all that time, I'd only seen I'd seen two patients with your type of cancer. But in the last six months I've seen SIX...and all of you are Desert Storm veterans."

Tell me there's no connection.
