I hope they teach that the first slave owner, Anthony Johnson, a former indentured servant (whites predominantly from the Barbary Coast, blacks predominantly from Africa) went to court to own slaves. Johnson was black. He kept slaves, then marketed to his black friends. When a white Republican freed the slaves, the blacks owned THOUSANDS of slaves and the native Americans owned tens of thousands of slaves. Why are the whites blamed today?
