Accused of shoplifting, man threatens assault against grocery manager

Posted

A man who stole from a grocery store last Sunday, returned later that day to threaten assault against the manager who reported him.

Olympia Police were dispatched on April 25 to the Safeway at 3215 Harrison Avenue SW for a trespass violation. The suspect, Dominique D. Boswell, 30, had already exited the store, heading toward the fuel station at Cooper Point Road.

When contacted in the parking lot by police, Boswell twice provided officers with a false name and date of birth. He also spelled his name out for the officers after dispatch and a computer search said that there was no record of that name or date of birth in existence in their system.

The Safeway manager came to the scene and verified that Boswell was the person who had made threats after trespassing and stealing from the store.

Booked into the Olympia Jail for trespassing, Boswell’s fingerprints were taken, and his true identity was discovered.
