Alleged vehicle prowl and theft leads to arrest in Lacey

A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with a vehicle prowl and theft in a residential area in the City of Lacey.

According to a Lacey Police Department report, officers responded to a call about two vehicles that had been entered without force outside a home on Wallingford Lane NE on Thursday, Oct. 9.

Items reported stolen included approximately $200 in cash, jewelry valued at around $1,200 and two credit or debit cards. One of the cards was later used at a gas station on Marvin Road NE.

Investigators identified the suspect as Lucas Clay Garrison, a transient resident reported to be living at Maple Court (an enhanced shelter).

Surveillance and witness accounts linked the suspect to the use of a stolen debit card and the possession of several items matching descriptions of property taken from the vehicles.

Police said Garrison attempted to use one of the stolen cards at a nearby Shell station, where the transaction was declined. Another man, identified as an associate of the suspect, reportedly completed a purchase using the same card.

When officers located Garrison near Maple Court, he was found with jewelry, cash and other items believed to have been stolen.

During questioning, Garrison admitted to his involvement and told officers he had hidden a ring in his shoe, which was later confirmed by the victim as her missing wedding ring.

He was arrested for second-degree theft, forgery, and possession of stolen property. Additional charges related to unlawful possession of a controlled substance were referred to prosecutors after prescription medication belonging to another person was found in his possession.

  • This ghoul looks like creepy father Halloween. Take them both 100 miles beyond the edge of town and use your imagination from there. Great police work officers.

Aside from the theft, who keeps cash, jewelry and credit cards in an unlocked vehicle?
