The temperature is expected to bust through 100 °F later this week.
The US National Weather Service in Seattle warns Thurston county residents to prepare for another heatwave starting from Monday, August 9 to Sunday, August 15.
In an announcement, the weather services reported that another heatwave will strike western Washington. For this week, the weather forecast is expected to range from 80 °F to as high as 101 °F. Temperatures are expected to drop by nighttime from 54 °F to 62 °F. The Thurston County forecast is as follows:
The U.S. Weather Service predicts that the upcoming heatwave will not be as intense as in this past June.
However, the U.S. Weather Service continuous to remind residents to “please remember to maintain adequate hydration, and never leave kids or pets locked in a hot vehicle.” They added that “It does not take long for internal temperatures to become deadly.”
Thurston County also urged homeowners to keep their grass clippings in their lawn as it traps moisture during the dry weather.
