The City of Olympia is inviting artists from Washington and Oregon to participate in the 2026 Percival Plinth Project, an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition held on Olympia’s downtown waterfront.

Up to 18 sculptures will be selected for a temporary, one-year exhibition at Percival Landing. Selected artists receive a $1,000 honorarium for loaning their work.

In addition, one sculpture will be chosen through public voting for the Peoples' Prize award of up to $10,000 from the City of Olympia. The art work becomes part of the city’s permanent public art collection.

All selected sculptures are going to be displayed on stainless steel pedestals with secure mounting systems provided by the city.

Installation of the new sculptures is scheduled for June 2026, followed by a community celebration to welcome the pieces of art and kick off a monthlong public voting period for the Peoples' Prize.

Artists interested in participating may submit their application by Jan. 5, 2026. Each artist is allowed to submit up to two applications.

Launched in 2011, the Percival Plinth Project has grown significantly in community engagement, with recent exhibitions drawing more than 500 to 600 votes during the public voting period.

Application details are available here.
