Astoria’s Fisher Poet Festival

Posted

This is the first overnighter of 2023, which will center around the lively cultural experience known as the Fisherpoets Gathering!

Everyone will travel south by way of Raymond and visit the impressive Carriage Museum, before continuing into charming and historic Astoria for lunch and a chance to explore the downtown venues a bit.

Everyone will then check in for one night at the Best Western Astoria Bayfront Hotel, before heading back downtown for the festivities.

The fee includes transportation, admission, a festival pass, lodging, two meals, and snacks. The bus leaves Lacey at 8:00 am, and Olympia at 8:30 am

The Fisher Poets Gathering, now in its 26th year, attracts poets, songwriters, and storytellers from fishing communities across the nation and beyond. They gather in pubs, restaurants, theaters, and galleries to read for each other and the hundreds of fans who come to hear these authentic creative voices. You’ll get a complete pass to the festival to experience all the poetry, storytelling, and music you want. Your guide will offer a suggested itinerary, and you can join her, or go your own way. You can suit yourself if you want to hop from venue to venue or spend the evening in one spot as the acts rotate through. They will provide a shuttle to and from the hotel for your convenience. After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have more time in town Saturday for another round of performances or shopping before heading home.
