Bids due for vessel up for public sale at Swantown Boatworks

Posted

The Port of Olympia is holding a public sale, at which individuals can participate in a bidding process for a 35-foot Sea Ray boat.

Bids will be accepted for the used boat at 11 a.m. on July 2 at Swantown Boatworks, said the Port of Olympia in a vessel for sale notice posted on its website.

Terms of the process call for the buyer to accept the vessel “as is” with no expressed warranty of any kind. The estimated value of the vessel is $5,000.

The following conditions apply to the discharge of the vessel:

  • The bidder shall have no unpaid debts to the Port of Olympia at the time of sale.
  • If a successful bidder is established at the sale, arrangements shall be made within 10 days of the sale to remove the vessel from port property, or a letter of credit shall be established for two months moorage or lay-time storage prior to taking possession of the vessel.
  • If the conditions are not met, ownership of vessel shall revert to the port.

The Port of Olympia may bid all or part of accrued port charges at the sale and may become purchaser at the sale. The legal owner of the vessel owes the Port of Olympia approximately $43,000, according to the vessel for sale notice.

The bidding process for the 35-foot Sea Ray is one of a few that have occurred this year, with auctions happening in early and late March.
