A suspect was arrested in connection with a boating accident on Puget Sound on August 3, a power boat collided with a kayak, leaving two stranded in the water.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) news post, the boat’s operator failed to stop and render assistance.
Authorities identified the boat involved after a detailed description provided by witnesses.
The boat was later traced back to its owner, who fully cooperated with the investigation. Authorities identified the boat's operator as the person responsible for the incident.
On August 16, police arrested David Josiah Seymour, who was booked in Thurston County Jail for boating hit-and-run with injury.
“Please stay vigilant on the water. TCSO reminded. “If you’re involved in a boating collision, it’s crucial to stop and assist those affected.”
“Leaving the scene is a crime,” the sheriff's office continued. “Fortunately, the kayakers were not injured in this incident.”
