A suspect who allegedly made bomb threats, while in a vehicle with a 4-year-old child, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 26, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) said in a social media post.
Local agencies received an urgent request for assistance after the suspect was reported to be making threats and driving recklessly in a white Honda sedan on Old Highway 99 toward Tenino.
Law enforcement quickly located the vehicle. A TCSO deputy equipped with a Grappler device, a tool used to to stop fleeing vehicles safely, was in the area.
The Grappler was deployed, bringing the vehicle to a stop without injuring the suspect, the child or bystanders.
The child, a family member of the suspect, was then reunited with its parents.
The suspect, who allegedly admitted to using fentanyl, was taken into custody. The suspect was not identified.
"Great teamwork by all the involved agencies to bring a safe resolution to this critical incident," TCSO stated.

Let's hope they keep the creep in jail. I'm tired of people using bomb threats, swatting innocent people and other crimes for the thrills. Consequences for crimes like this need to be painful enough that they don't try it again.
