The Olympia School District Board of Directors is holding community listening sessions this week to gather input on the budget process.
The school district is facing a multimillion-dollar budget deficit for the 2026-27 academic year and is looking for ways to close the gap.
Community members are enouraged to attend a session on Tuesday, April 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Washington Middle School Cafeteria.
A second session will be held at the same time on Thursday, April 16, at Jefferson Middle School Cafeteria.
According to the district, event participants may move at their own pace between stations, share feedback and connect with other people.
“Guiding questions will help spark conversation about district priorities, challenges and how best to support students. We want to hear what our community sees as the greatest needs as we continue this work,” said the district in a social media post.
Interpretation services are available upon request. Available languages are American Sign Language, Spanish and Vietnamese.
