The Capitol Campus in Olympia saw a series of temporary closures Thursday, August 22, as local law enforcement agencies collaborate with the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) for an emergency response training exercise.
Access to several key areas on the campus, including the Legislative Building, was temporarily closed to accommodate the training.
The Legislative Building and nearby areas was off-limits to the public starting at 4 p.m. and will remain closed until midnight.
The first exercise started at 3 p.m. when law enforcement vehicles arrive at the Governor’s Mansion parking lot.
Shortly after, parking south of the Legislative Building will be restricted.
The Legislative Building will be fully closed by 5 p.m., and the Capitol Campus west of Cherry Lane will be inaccessible.
