The Thurston County Museum of Fine Arts (TCMoFA) will present the second annual Coast Salish Museum of Fine Arts (CMoFA) this October for the fall season.

This juried exhibition exclusively promotes self-identified Indigenous artists at a temporary museum pop-up to honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day. A panel of Indigenous artists will curate the juried show

The show will take place on October fourth and fifth during the Olympia Arts Walk and October 12 through 14 in celebration of Indigenous People’s Day. Traditionally, the museum is set on Squaxin, Nisqually, and Cowlitz land in the Salish Sea region of Turtle Island.

All participating artists will be handed a $200 honorarium to offset the costs associated with participation in the show.

Indigenous artists working in all mediums may apply, from individuals and groups working in contemporary art to those practicing traditional crafts, performance art, music, and more.

Interested artists are urged to send an application to TCMoFA's site. The call for artists remains open until Sunday, September 8.

TCMoFA is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to activating vacant and underutilized commercial spaces by transforming them into free-to-enter, public art spaces.

TCMoFA is a fun and funny pop-up "museum." Really strong work is always there. Go while you can because despite the solid-seeming name it mysteriously vanishes until its next reincarnation!
