Chance of rain falls over next couple of days in Thurston County

A break in the weather is on the horizon following days of rain that led to a flood watch being issued for Thurston County.

The National Weather Service Office in Seattle forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of rain on Thursday evening, Dec. 11, with new precipitation amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter inch possible. The overnight low should be around 47 degrees.

There is a chance of rain before 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, then a chance of rain after 3 p.m. The chance of precipitation is pegged at 30 percent. 

The high should be near 56 degrees amid a backdrop of cloudy skies and a southwest wind of 3 to 6 miles per hour. The flood watch is scheduled to sunset at 4 p.m. on Friday.

The chance of precipitation diminishes to 20 percent on Friday evening, mainly before 10 p.m., with an overnight low around 44 degrees.

Then, on Saturday, Dec. 13, mostly sunny skies are in the forecast with a high near 56 degrees and a light south wind.

The forecast darkens overnight with an 80 percent chance of rain and new precipitation amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible.
