Chevron employee accused of luring 15-year-old into back room for a kiss

An employee at a Chevron gas station on Pacific Avenue SE in Olympia was arrested on May 11, following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a minor.

According to the Olympia Police Department (OPD), a teenage girl reported to authorities that her 15-year-old friend was inappropriately approached by a male employee while visiting the station.

According to the victim, the employee told her she would get a free soda if she would go with the employee inside the back room.

Inside the room, the employee reportedly made unwanted advances, including asking for a kiss and attempting to hug the minor. The girl declined and left the area, rejoining her friend outside.

The victim, who told her friend about the incident, returned to the station to confront the employee and then reported the incident to the authorities.

During the interview with the responding officers, the victim stated the suspect offered her a free Coke if she will go with him in the back room.

Once there, the victim said the employee attempted to kiss her and allegedly said, “Before you take the Coke you need to give me a kiss."

The victim declined, but the suspect allegedly hugged her forcibly and asked again for a kiss. The victim once again declined, then exited the back room and left without the soda.

Officers showed both girls a photo of the suspect, identified as Kuljeet Singh, and positively identified him as the person who lured the victim into the back room.

Authorities then reviewed the store’s video footage, and saw the employee and the minor enter the back room.

The officers found probable cause and arrested the 27-year-old suspect on the charges of suspicion of luring with sexual motivation, unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree attempted assault.

Yup, kudos to the girls for reporting it. And kudos to that friend, who knew that situation was not okay, went back to confront the guy, and called the authorities. That is how you watch out for your friends!
