If you already have found a home in a local church, this story’s not for you.
Many people resume their interest in attending church around this time of year, according to, well, Google Trends. Christmas is second only to Easter in terms of online (and probably real-life) searches.
If you’re interested in exploring Christianity, this is a big week in Thurston County. Dozens of churches are holding services online over the next few days and most very clearly are interested in making your couch their virtual pew.
To help you find one that might be right for you, please take a look at our new Religion Guide, here on The JOLT. In it we’ve begun profiles of 58 churches, mosques, temples, centers, assemblies and even a gurudwara and chua. This being Thurston County, the vast majority are churches.
Most Christmas-related services are tomorrow night, Christmas Eve. Some are on Friday, Christmas Day. And there are a few tonight that you might want to check out, including at Evergreen Christian Center in west Olympia and New Bridge Community Church in Olympia.
This is a work in progress; I figure we’ve inadvertently missed a few. I apologize, too, for neglecting to find every congregation. We’re reaching out to all of them to ask for more details. Meantime, it’s easy to look and click the links in every listing.
Please help us to add any we’ve missed. (Just click Contribute your news, toward the top of this page, to send us a message. You can even include a photo! That form’s good any time you have a news tip, idea, gripe or want to thank us for publishing something you like.)
