Construction at Martin Way E and Duterrow Rd SE, East of Lacey on Tuesday

Traffic disruptions will occur at the intersection of Martin Way E and Duterrow Road SE/Meridian Road NE from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, until the following day.

According to Thurston County, the intersection will undergo some traffic revisions to accommodate the construction work connecting the new development on the corner of Martin Way E and Duterrow Rd. SE to utility services.

"We understand the revisions will cause some inconvenience, but they are necessary to ensure the safety of the workers and the public," said Thurston County Traffic Engineering and Operations Manager Matt Unzelman.

The county added that the traffic revisions will affect the following:

Traffic signals will be shut down at 8:30 a.m. on both days.

• Dual lanes on Martin Way E will be reduced to a single lane.
• Lanes on Duterrow Rd. SE and Meridian Rd. NE will be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic.
• Traffic signals will be turned on, and traffic patterns will return to normal in the evening and overnight.

“Drivers are reminded to follow posted speed limits and use caution while driving in work zones,” the city added.
