Convicted felon arrested after single-vehicle crash, faces multiple charges

A convicted felon was arrested following a single-vehicle crash near Boston Harbor on 46th Avenue NE and Libby Road NE on Friday, July 18, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responding to the scene initially found a woman inside the vehicle who claimed to be the driver. However, witnesses informed the deputies that the driver was a man.

Authorities later located the driver, identified by sheriff's office records as Allan Wilson Abad, nearby. According to a social media post, he was reportedly intoxicated and refused to cooperate with law enforcement, resulting in deputies using a WRAP restraint system to secure the man.

During the course of the arrest, the suspect allegedly made threats to harm deputies, as well as Sheriff Derek Sanders.

It was also discovered that the 36-year-old suspect is a convicted felon with a robbery and drive-by shooting on his rap sheet.

Investigators determined the woman who claimed to be the driver had arrived at the scene after the crash to help the suspect by pretending to be the driver.

The woman, identified by sheriff's office records as 58-year-old Jeri Lee Moomaw, was arrested for making a false or misleading statement to a public servant, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and aiding and abetting.

Abad faces a number of charges, including felony harassment with threats to kill, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, third-degree driving while license suspended, and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock when required.

The speed limit there is 35 (not that anyone does that). There are no shoulders, lots of blind hills, no lights, lots of deer. Rain, dark and snow can also also helpful. It's not an easy road even for careful drivers. Idiots end up in the ditch. Evolution at work.
