A convicted felon wanted for first-degree robbery was arrested after a joint effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
The Thurston Narcotics Task Force, along with Nisqually Tribal Police, Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) patrol and federal agents tracked down the suspect. The suspect was wanted in connection with a violent robbery in Olympia.
The TCSO said in a Facebook post that the suspect was apprehended after climbing into an attic at an undisclosed location.
The suspect, whose name was not released, also refused to surrender to authorities after he was located.
“A risk assessment was conducted, and the suspect rated out as extremely high risk with prior convictions for burglary and robbery," the TCSO said in the post. "The suspect has been booked into TCSO jail a total of 18 times.”
Officers brought K-9 Asher into the scene, and the K-9’s barking led to the suspect’s surrender without incident, as he had been bitten several times by K-9 dogs in previous arrests.
The suspect was taken into Thurston County Jail on a Department of Corrections felony escape warrant and first-degree robbery charges. Multiple firearms were recovered from the scene.
