A 67-year-old man from Aberdeen was arrested at a motel in Tumwater after he allegedly arranged to hire a prostitute.
A Thurston County Sheriff’s Office report states Gregory Dewayne Reeder was taken into custody on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
He was arrested during an operation arranged by the sheriff's office to catch the suspect when he attempted to hire a prostitute. He also allegedly discussed selling methamphetamine.
“I was contacted on my undercover Facebook by Gregory (suspect). Gregory asked me if I ever have sex with strangers. I responded to him by saying I did fairly often. I asked Gregory if he had any white (meth) he’d sell me as well which he stated he did,” an undercover deputy stated in the report.
When deputies contacted Reeder in the Motel 6 parking lot on Lee Street SW, they found a substance believed to be methamphetamine and cash on him.
After securing a search warrant for the suspect’s 2014 Ford Focus, deputies discovered additional baggies of a crystal-like substance, drug paraphernalia, and a Mossberg 702 Plinkster .22. Authorities confirmed Reeder is a convicted felon, which makes it illegal for him to possess firearms.
He was booked into the Thurston County Corrections Facility on charges of patronizing a prostitute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Reeder is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on Aug. 26, court records show.
