Dispute Resolution Center expands services

The Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) of Thurston County announced it has expanded its services to address and resolve housing-related conflicts.

Many of the services are available at no cost because of contracts with the cities of Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater, as well as Mason County. No-cost services vary depending on location.

Landlords, tenants, HOA's, roommates and neighbors can use the center's services to resolve disputes and improve communication; or specifically to the following:

• Address overdue rent.

• Discuss dues increases or imposition of special assessments.

• Specifically negotiate payment or repayment plans.

•Discuss deposits and move out timelines.

• Address lease agreements.

• Develop agreements for shared housing and cohabitating.

• Resolve neighborhood issues.

"The DRC's fees are based on a sliding scale to ensure that cost is not a barrier to anyone who is seeking or would benefit from its services," the DRC said in its announcement.

So many people leverage everything they have to buy a rental. They have to pay mortgage, insurance, taxes, repairs, homeowners association, and more. And tenants sometime do not pay anything. Screws up credit, increases foreclosures. Who allows this behavior I ask. Oh yeah, Dumocrats!
