A monthslong investigation into a regional drug trafficking organization has resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals involved in alleged narcotics distribution and firearm-related offenses, according to a Thurston County Narcotics (TNT) Task Force report.
The operation, dubbed "Pink Octopus," was conducted between August 2024 and February 2025. It targeted a cartel-linked drug network supplying methamphetamine to dealers in Thurston County.
Led by the TNT Task Force, the investigation involved assistance from federal and local law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, Olympia and Lakewood police departments, and the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Search warrants executed across multiple locations in the South Puget Sound region led to the seizure of significant amounts of illegal substances and assets.
The TNT Task Force confiscated more than 21 pounds of methamphetamine, along with quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and MDMA. Officers also recovered two firearms, three vehicles and nearly $17,000 in cash.
The operation specifically targeted mid-level drug distributors in Thurston County, disrupting a significant supply chain in the region. The identities of the people arrested have not been disclosed, as state and federal prosecutors are still reviewing charges.
The TNT Task Force is composed of members from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Homeland Security, and the Washington State Department of Corrections.

For those financially minded: those 21 pounds of meth likely cost $250K and would have been sold for $1.4M -- give or take some hand-outs and dealer-skimming. (There is a federal website that lists wholesale-middleman-retail rates for meth)

WHY HAVEN'T THE NAMES OF THOSE ARRESTED BEEN RELEASED? IF THEY ARE BEING HELD IN JAIL, THEY HAVE PROBABLY BEEN CHARGED WITH SOME CRIME. IS IT NOW ONLY POSSIBLE TO RELEASE THE NAMES OF BAD APPLES ONLY IF THEY HAVE BEEN CONVICTED????
