Ex nixed the idea, according to Sheriff’s office

An allegedly intoxicated woman was arrested after seeking to drive away with her children following a five-year-old’s birthday party just before 8 p.m. last Sat., June 19, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies contacted Jennifer Amundsen, 39, of Lakewood, after arriving at the 9700 block of Glacis Dr NE residence in northeast Thurston County to find Amundsen in the driveway, screaming at another female.

According to the police report, Amundsen was very intoxicated and stated that she would not leave without her children and that “you can’t keep them from me” to other female.

The female stated that she was a neighbor, and that Amundsen’s children were inside her home, along with their father, Amundsen’s ex-husband. The father stated that this was Amundsen’s weekend to have the kids but that Amundsen had too much to drink at the birthday party.

Amundsen who repeatedly screamed both the neighbors and the deputy, was put in wrist restraints and she resisted arrest, attempting to pull away. Amundsen eventually had the WRAP device placed on her.

The report lists Amundsen as a paraeducator in the Federal Way School District; a deputy reported that after she was placed in the WRAP device, she screamed, “you tied me up like a f-----g retard!”

Amundsen was booked into the Thurston County Jail for obstruction of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

I would really appreciate it if you would take down this article. I never tried to drive away with my children. I was not married so I'm curious why you would say I had an ex husband. Most of your statements are inaccurate. I was yelling because I was waiting for MY RIDE to find the house and "the neighbor" went psycho on me. Wanting to keep my kids is NOT the same as trying to drink and drive with them. Shame on you!
