The community is encouraged to visit the Olympia Arts Walk on October 4-5 in the fall to celebrate the arts with street performances, musical entertainment, and the local craft market.
Thousands have gathered in downtown Olympia in the Spring and Fall for this semi-annual community event since 1990. It is a known avenue for an upbeat arts experience fueled by creativity to connect and engage.
More than 100 local businesses downtown decorate their spaces as creative spaces filled with art, demonstrations, and performances.
Most structures, streets, and sidewalks will feature pop-up performances and areas to connect with others.
Live performances include music, dance, comedy, circus arts, and dramatic performances.
“Be sure to pick up an art walk map at a local business or City Hall with artist exhibit listings and locations, or find a digital map and listings on artswalkoly.com,” the event’s news release stated.
Street closure hours for the fall arts walk are on Friday, from 6 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, 12 – 6 p.m.
In addition to pop-up performances, Arts Walk and Gallery Boom will produce an Arts Market along the street closure areas downtown. Vendors can be seen here.
There will also be an activity area for all-ages, hands-on festivities, and a food village.
The event calendar can be accessed at this link.

One of the coolest things about Arts Walk is that among the crowds you'll randomly see folks from work or past lives, usually with partners and kids!

The most impressive part of Arts Walk is finding our how many talented artists live in our area. These are not "just amateur kitchen arts & crafts" dabblers. There are outstanding talents that knock my socks off living among us. Arts Walk is an opportunity to see gorgeous works of art at our doorstep. Come on down and walk around. Meet and greet the artists and realize that your neighbors have hidden talent.
