Epic Cornhole Challenge

a fundraiser by Family Education and Support Services

Posted

Cornholers and cornholer aspirants will face off at Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester in a fund-raiser for Family Education and Support Services (FESS). A silent auction will provide further fun to brighten a long winter’s evening, as will a DJ and entertainment invited by Bobby Williams, founder, and president of the Bridge Music Project.

The Epic Cornhole Challenge is an indoor cornhole tournament dedicated to raising funds to help Family Education & Support Services (FESS) change lives - for children, families, and communities. With your support, they can ensure more children grow up safe and healthy.

This tournament is played with doubles (bring your own partner) in Playoffs format.

Divisions:

  • Epic Challenge Division (Social)
  • Super Switch- Competitive Division

A playoffs tournament combines the games with a round-robin and a single elimination tournament at the end. Teams play a round robin at first to obtain a “seeding” based on the winning percentage. When the round-robin format is over, an even number of teams are chosen to enter the playoffs round – the top 6 teams, 8 teams, 12 teams, etc. If the number of winning teams from the first round would not result in an even number of teams playing in the second round, then some teams will have to be given a bye in the first round. The playoffs are a single elimination round and the games are played until a winner is crowned.

Example: If you have 14 teams, the team with most wins in the round robin is the #1 seed, second most wins is the #2 seed, etc. The top 8 teams make the playoffs – #1 vs. #8, #2 vs. #7, #3 vs. #6, etc.

How many people are on a team?  Each team has two players. Groups are more than welcome to register for multiple units of two.

Social registration will close on January 26. Click here to sign up.
